I was laid off 7 times.
It s**ked every single time.

As a manager and as a People leader, I've had the dubious privilege of letting many people go, through redundancies mainly, as well as other circumstances.
It s**ked every single time.

Yet it never s**ks as much as it does for the person who's on the other side of the table (I've been there too).

Roy Perlson from Jobago and I recently discussed those experiences and how companies can have a compassionate approach as well as provide essential support (such as outplacement services) to the people who are losing their job.
